Paul Javal a young French playwright on the up accepts a job from vulgar American producer Jeremy Prokosch who wants Javal to re-write a script of a film being directed by Fritz Lang. Javal’s wife Camille is played by Brigitte Bardot and the presence of Prokosch drives a wedge between husband and wife. Camille develops what she describes as mépris (contempt) for her husband. This is an original US Subway poster for the 1968 Beatles film Yellow Submarine. This poster, at roughly 5ft x 3ft,? is spectacular in scale and despite never having been folded has been beautifully linen backed. The artwork is by Heinz Edelmann and features much of the fun from the cartoon with the Fab Four and their Yellow submarine as the centrepiece. When inhabitants of Pepperland are attacked by the music hating Blue Meanies, the Mayor of Pepperland dispatches sailor Old Fred to Liverpool, to recruit the help of the Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr). The Beatles ride a yellow submarine to the rescue and banish the Blue Meanies with their groovy tunes. -

This is an Australian poster for the first release poster of the film Lawrence of Arabia in Australia. It is a lovely example of a stone lithograph print that was used for Australian cinema posters. The poster was originally folded but has been stored flat and the fold lines are barely perceptible. The third unframed HD image enables the best assessment. David Leans epic depicts the story of British army officer T.E. Lawrence who led Arabian desert tribes into battle with the Turkish army in Aqaba and Damascus during World War I. Peter O'Toole plays the title role and Omar Sharif and Anthony Quinn also star. -

This is an original 4 foglio poster for a 1970s re-release of You Only Live Twice in Italy. The 'red background' style of this poster is very popular with collectors and we believe there was once? (and may still be a copy) on display at the London Film Museum in Convent Garden. You Only Live Twice is the fifth Eon-produced Bond film. Multiple styles of artwork were used in the film posters with one consistent feature being Sean Connery holding a diving mask and pistol. This is the image you see in the poster but note how Bond has become left handed to accommodate the text on the right hand side. The poster has been linen-backed and the 2nd image gives an idea of the huge scale of the poster. The appearance of this poster is not perfect and we suggest and examination of the the 3rd unframed (HD) image which enables the best condition assessment. -
Chelsea Girls was the only art-house film directed by Andy Warhol to achieve mainstream success. This poster was designed for a UK screening of the film at the Art's Laboratory in London in 1968 and Warhol famously remarked that he wished the movie was as good as the poster. The circulation of the poster led to outcries of indecency and it was withdrawn. Only a small number of these posters are thought to have survived and they have generally been bought by museums such as the TATE. However, in 1970 the designer, Alan Aldridge, commissioned Motif to produce a further run of the posters and it is one of these posters we have on offer. Although this is a rare example of a poster on our website that wasn't used as promotional material for a film release, it is both a compelling artwork and investment piece. Its presents very well but there have been minor repairs to 3 tears which can only be seen by scrutinising the back The 3rd unframed image enables the best condition assessment. -

This is an rare original poster for the first release of 'The Man with the Golden Gun' in 1974, which features a tie-up with the brand Guinness. The huge golden gun directed at Bond with the '007' ominously etched onto a bullet is central to the poster but it shares the limelight with the famous Irish stout. A bottle of Guinness makes an appearance in the film when Nick Nack brings it to Scaramanga on a tray with bottle of Champagne and a plate of oysters in the pre-title sequence. The poster has been linen backed and the appearance is immaculate and ready to be framed. Based on a novel by Truman Capote, the film epitomises the chic side of New York City through Hepburn's distinctive style. This an original first release poster for the film Lawrence of Arabia. Â British army officer T.E. Lawrence led Arabian desert tribes into battle with the Turkish army in Aqaba and Damascus during World War I. Peter O'Toole plays the title role and Omar Sharif and Anthony Quinn also star. This particular first release poster for the film is one of the most sought cinema posters printed in the UK in the past 70 years. It is also very hard to find, with copies rarely being available for sale. We acquired it from a gentleman who had kept in a folder since childhood and it this is reflected in the outstanding colour with no apparent fading. It has been glued on top of another poster but we think it would restore magnificently. There is some minor dirt on the right hand side but we think this could be cleaned and wouldn't require over-painting. The snipe (sticker with additional screening details) could be left in place or removed by a restorer before linen backing. If removed we could have it linen backed also. It does adds to the provenance as Oxford is the city T.E. Lawrence is most associated with. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if we can provide more information or if interested in a viewing. -

This is an original cinema poster for the 1967 film Casino Royale. Robert Feldman acquired the rights for the first Ian Fleming James Bond novel. Rather than making a deal with Bond franchise owner EON Productions, he produced this satire himself. Bond is played by multiple actors, reflected in the tagline Casino Royale is too much for one James Bond, and the movie features many superstars all of whom are listed on the poster. The artwork is by Robert McGinnis and the multi-coloured paisley pattern painted on the girl's body reflects the swinging 60s mood of the time. -

This is an original UK quad for the epic 1962 film The Longest Day, an epic dramatisation of the D-Day landings. The story is told from both an Allied and German side and features an all-star cast including John Wayne, Richard Burton and Sean Connery. The quad format brilliantly captures what the inside of a German trench would have looked like as the Allied forces descended on Normandy. This poster was printed for a 60s re-release of the film. The name Gert Frobe was added to the credits after he played Goldfinger in 1964. -
