This is a original poster for the first release of You Only Live Twice in the USA. Three styles were produced to promote the release of 'You Only Live Twice' in both Britain and the US. Of the three styles the Style C (Bath Scene) picture is the most popular. The picture has many subtle signs of the year the poster was produced. The image is deliberately risque, reflecting the new 1960s mood of sexual liberation. The tagline emphasises that Sean Connery is the one and only James Bond, perhaps a veiled put-down of Casino Royal, the Bond spoof released that year. The artwork is unmistakably Robert McGinnis while the great children's author and 'Tales of the Unexpected' creator Roald Dahl wrote the screenplay and is named in the poster's credits. This is an original US Subway Cinema poster for the first release of Thunderball in the United States. Thunderball was the first Bond film poster to feature work by the acclaimed artist Robert McGinniss and this is a special poster. It was first major US or UK film poster to feature Bond in attire other than a tuxedo. Here you can see him ready for action, wearing a wetsuit and flippers and holding a spear gun. This hugely 'desirable' image is used in the UK quad poster also . Similar in composition, both are landscape posters but this image with an extra 20 inches in width and 15 inches in height than the quad has that extra wow factor. Printed 60 years ago this poster remains in excellent condition. The colours are immaculate and there are no pinholes or tape. There is some minor edge wear and a 1 inch tear in either side. One of them goes into green border slightly and can just about be seen above the black hair of the lady wearing the pink headboard. Really this is minor stuff however and it would be barely visible let alone draw the eye when framed. We can also help with the framing of this spectacular image. -

This is an original 4 foglio poster for a 1970s re-release of You Only Live Twice in Italy. The 'red background' style of this poster is very popular with collectors and we believe there was once? (and may still be a copy) on display at the London Film Museum in Convent Garden. You Only Live Twice is the fifth Eon-produced Bond film. Multiple styles of artwork were used in the film posters with one consistent feature being Sean Connery holding a diving mask and pistol. This is the image you see in the poster but note how Bond has become left handed to accommodate the text on the right hand side. Bond with a cigarette in one hand and a gun in the other lounges next to 4 seductive women. Small line drawings of scenes from the movie are used. Red and yellow are colours that portray passion while the use of black green and yellow is perhaps a nod to the film's Jamaican setting. You can observe grey smoke coming from Bonds cigarette. In the first run of prints of these posters the smoke was yellow but this was changed in later print runs. Both posters are equally desirable, and this is a special and rare poster. This particular first release poster for the film is one of the most sought cinema posters printed in the UK in the past 70 years. It is also very hard to find, with copies rarely being available for sale. We acquired it from a gentleman who had kept in a folder since childhood and it this is reflected in the outstanding colour with no apparent fading. It has been glued on top of another poster but we think it would restore magnificently. There is some minor dirt on the right hand side but we think this could be cleaned and wouldn't require over-painting. The snipe (sticker with additional screening details) could be left in place or removed by a restorer before linen backing. If removed we could have it linen backed also. There are no credits and you can see that not even the film title has not been printed as it was unlikely to have been confirmed at the time. The animated film was released in an effort to meet the band's obligation with United Artist to deliver three feature films. Chelsea Girls was the only art-house film directed by Andy Warhol to achieve mainstream success. This poster was designed for a UK screening of the film at the Art's Laboratory in London in 1968 and Warhol famously remarked that he wished the movie was as good as the poster. The circulation of the poster led to outcries of indecency and it was withdrawn. Only a small number of these posters are thought to have survived and they have generally been bought by museums such as the TATE. However, in 1970 the designer, Alan Aldridge, commissioned Motif to produce a further run of the posters and it is one of these posters we have on offer. This in an original One Sheet poster for the film 'A Hard Days Night'. The first Beatles film features a fictionalised version of the band at the height of Beatlemania. The film created persona’s for the band that endured. John Lennon was the smart one, McCartney the cute one, Harrison the quiet one and Ringo the lucky one. A ‘Hard Days Night’ was re-released in 1999 and this poster was used to promote the release at the time. It uses the original US poster style showing headshots of the band members. This is an original US Subway poster for the 1968 Beatles film Yellow Submarine. This poster, at roughly 5ft x 3ft,? is spectacular in scale and despite never having been folded has been beautifully linen backed. The artwork is by Heinz Edelmann and features much of the fun from the cartoon with the Fab Four and their Yellow submarine as the centrepiece. When inhabitants of Pepperland are attacked by the music hating Blue Meanies, the Mayor of Pepperland dispatches sailor Old Fred to Liverpool, to recruit the help of the Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr). The Beatles ride a yellow submarine to the rescue and banish the Blue Meanies with their groovy tunes. -

This is an original, year of release, US Insert Poster for the film Breakfast at Tiffany's. The film is widely considered to have the most popular cinema posters of any single film and this US Insert is one of the most collectible of any posters for the film. Of the three styles the Style C (Bath Scene) photograph is the most popular. The main artwork shows Bond being attended to by exotic, bikini-clad girls. The picture has many subtle signs of the year the poster was produced. The image is deliberately risque, reflecting the new 1970s mood of sexual liberation. The tagline emphasises that Sean Connery is the one and only James Bond, perhaps a veiled put-down of Casino Royale, the Bond spoof released that year. The artwork is unmistakably Robert McGinnis while the great children's author and 'Tales of the Unexpected' creator Roald Dahl wrote the screenplay and is named in the poster's credits. US Subway posters are quite stunning in their scale and this poster is no exception.
