This an original first release poster for the film Lawrence of Arabia. Â British army officer T.E. Lawrence led Arabian desert tribes into battle with the Turkish army in Aqaba and Damascus during World War I. Peter O'Toole plays the title role and Omar Sharif and Anthony Quinn also star. This particular first release poster for the film is one of the most sought cinema posters printed in the UK in the past 70 years. It is also very hard to find, with copies rarely being available for sale. We acquired it from a gentleman who had kept in a folder since childhood and it this is reflected in the outstanding colour with no apparent fading. It has been glued on top of another poster but we think it would restore magnificently. There is some minor dirt on the right hand side but we think this could be cleaned and wouldn't require over-painting. The snipe (sticker with additional screening details) could be left in place or removed by a restorer before linen backing. If removed we could have it linen backed also. It does adds to the provenance as Oxford is the city T.E. Lawrence is most associated with. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if we can provide more information or if interested in a viewing. -
This is an original cinema poster for the film Get Carter. This item will be on display in the Saatchi Gallery, London as part of their 2025 ‘Flowers – Flora in Contemporary Art and Culture’ exhibition which opens in February 2025. It will be delivered framed after the exhibition finishes in May 2025. Michael Caine, in one of his iconic roles, plays London gangster Jack Carter who travels north to his hometown of Newcastle to avenge the death of his brother. Arnaldo Putzu produced the stunning artwork for this poster. Its not 100% clear why the artist painted a floral pattern on the actors suit jacket. Perhaps it was an ironic nod to the swinging 60's. In any case, it delivers making this one of the great British film posters from the last 60 years. The poster is linen backed in excellent condition. -

This is an original UK quad poster from the first release of the film Goldfinger. Rather than conventional artwork, designer Robert Brownjohn uses the same photographic approach for the poster that was used in the title sequence. Hugely innovative at the time, an image of Bond (Sean Connery) and Pussy Galore (Honour Blackman) is projected onto a girl painted gold. This startling image would have created huge intrigue and implied the use of cutting-edge technology at the time of the film's release. The poster has gold and red/orange taglines while the white font of the film title is now instantly recognisable as being associated with the film. The colours have not faded at all. This is an original, county of original, UK quad poster in outstanding folded condition for the 1968 Beatles film Yellow Submarine. The poster was printed in advance of the films first release. There are no credits and you can see that not even the film title has not been printed as it was unlikely to have been confirmed at the time. The animated film was released in an effort to meet the band's obligation with United Artist to deliver three feature films. The artwork is by Heinz Edelmann and features much of the fun from the cartoon with the Fab Four and their Yellow submarine as the centrepiece. When inhabitants of Pepperland are attacked by the music hating Blue Meanies, the Mayor of Pepperland dispatches sailor Old Fred to Liverpool, to recruit the help of the Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr). The Beatles ride a yellow submarine to the rescue and banish the Blue Meanies with their groovy tunes. This is an original first release Star Wars Style C UK Quad poster. It is especially rare as it was never folded though it has also been linen backed. The design, and artwork, were produced by Tom Chantrell. This is the style C Star Wars posters, sometimes referred to as the Dirty Dozen poster due to the way the characters line up in the same way. Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2 and C-3PO all feature on this poster. A large image of Darth Vader's helmet looms in the background, a design that was used in many subsequent posters for the franchise. There is some very minor restoration along the bottom of this poster though it is only barely perceptible to the eye on close inspection. This is a brilliant set of original advance posters to promote the release of the film Parasite in the UK. Few film releases have created as much excitement among poster lovers in the past 5-10 years as Parasite, with many brilliant alternate artworks. The film was a relatively late release in the UK (it had already won the Palm D’Or and was hotly tipped for an Oscar) and the distributor Curzon went all out producing these 3 posters. We have decided to keep them together and offer them as a collection. The illustrated poster was produced by the London-based design studio La Boca and it generated huge publicity online about the film's pending release. It features scenes and rooms from the house in the movie. Its brilliance lies in the way the viewer constantly finds new layers and context upon viewing it. The black & white image was only used to publicise the film in the UK and the detail in the image is truly staggering. The 3rd image with the black and white strips over the character's eyes was used in cinema posters globally and completes the set. All 3 posters are in Very Fine to Near Mint condition. This is an original UK Quad poster for the first release of Enter the Dragon. The movie stars Bruce Lee in his biggest budget and final film before his untimely death at the age of 32. The film had huge success and created an international audience for other films such as the 36 Chambers of Shaolin (1978). For this reason Enter the Dragon is the most well-known an important film of the genre. The poster features Lee to the left holding a set of nunchucks with film title on the right and a hugely popular yellow background. The American Supporting cast reflects Warner Brothers' plan to hedge their bet on the film by appealing to a Western audience. Prior to the film, Hong Kong had been the main production base for martial arts films. A near-mint original poster, that has been linen-backed, for the James Bond film 'For Your Eyes Only'. The poster, part of what is known as the 'Legs Campaign', is dominated by the legs of a girl holding a crossbow, the signature weapon of the character Melina Havelock. To the left of the main characters, there are divers while helicopters, scramblers, skiers, explosions on luxury yachts, snipers, and car chases make this a Bond poster that has it all. Having gone sci-fi four years earlier with Moonraker, the producers returned to a grittier feel with For Your Eyes Only in 1981. Bond is back in his signature tux but for once 007 is on the undercard. UK Quad Posters in an excellent condition for this film are highly sought after. This is an original Quad from the first UK release of 'The Man with the Golden Gun' in 1974. Central to this poster is a huge golden gun directed at Bond with the '007' ominously etched onto a bullet being loaded into the gun. This is a direct reference to the beginning of the film when a similar bullet arrives at MI6 addressed to Bond. Roger Moore is captured in a similar pose that in the poster for Live and Let Die but a new equally as brilliant collage of images has been brought in. Mary Goodnight played by Britt Ekland and Scaramanga played by Christopher Lee feature as memorable Bond girls and villains. Images to the left and right of Bond are a nod to the film's exotic Eastern locations. Both the design and illustration were produced by the venerable Robert McGinnis. The condition of the poster is immaculate. It has been expertly linen-backed and required minimal touching up to the fold lines. Bond is immediately recognisable as Sean Connery, again surrounded by two impossibly beautiful women holding handfuls of diamonds. All 3 sit on the arm of a space buggy which Bond hijacks in the film. Blofelds diamond satellite superweapon and oil rig lair feature in the background. Instead of a tagline as used in previous Bond posters the "Forever" in the poster is repeated. There may not be a more memorable Bond theme tune that Shirley Bassey's track for this movie. This is an Original UK Quad Poster for the 1955 film The Man with the Golden Arm. The Man with the Golden Arm is the film poster that shot artist Saul Bass to fame in the film industry. The film is a hard-hitting examination of drug addiction a taboo subject in the 1950s. The artist uses the distorted arm to reflect the damage addiction inflicts on the human body. The distorted arm was also used in the opening sequence title (also produced by Saul Bass) and the advertising campaign. This nuanced focus on the arm was a completely new approach for the promotion of films which before this had largely revolved around the film star. Frank Sinatra, in what is what is widely agreed to be his finest film performance, plays addict Frankie who gets clean while in prison but struggles to stay drug-free when released. A must watch for anyone with the slightest interest in the art world, Exit Through the Gift shop tells the story of Mr Brainwash's ascent to the top table of global Graffiti artists. The real lure of this documentary however, is that its produced and narrated by none other than BANKSY. BANKSY's involvement and style leads the viewer to question throughout if what they're watching is an elaborate hoax, and this makes for a hugely unpredictable and entertaining experience. The poster is rare as its dimensions are 41 x 31 inches, an inch longer and wider than the standard UK quad as it was never been trimmed after printing. The poster features a tuxedo-clad, gun-wielding Roger Moore and the female lead Octopussy played by Maud Adams. Adams's six arms hold a martini glass, straighten Bonds tuxedo, hair, and bow tie and also ominously stroke the silencer of his gun. The tagline 'James Bond's all time high!' references the movies title song, sang by Rita Coolidge. Never Say Never Again was not produced by EON Produtions and its main draw was getting Sean Connery to play Bond, which is reflected in the prominence of his image in the promotional material. The film is a re-make of Thunderball - one the producers Ian McClory had worked with Fleming on the original. The posters maritime/diving theme and bikini clad girls echo the poster for the original. This UK poster is in a spotless condition and provides a great opportunity to own a Sean Connery Bond UK Quad poster. -

This is an original cinema poster for the 1994 film Pulp Fiction. Pulp Fiction is the film that made Quentin Tarantino a global star. The opening scenes of Pulp Fiction are so brilliant that in the space of 10 minutes it re-launched the career of John Travolta and catapulted Samuel L Jackson to stardom. Other stars featured in abundance, but the shot of Uma Thurman used in both this poster and the US One Sheet will understandingly live on as the movie's iconic image.
