This is an Original US One Sheet Poster for the first release of the 1958 film Veritgo. Vertigo was the first Alfred Hitchcock film for which Saul Bass produced a film poster and this image has gone on to become one of the most famous pictures in movie history. The poster is synonymous with the film, they are almost one and the same. The poster uses a spiral, a symbol which can be seen throughout the film. The spiral is a visual representation of obsession, the core theme of the film. Obsession is powered by repetition, an action the spiral also represents. Scenes in the film are repeated to capture obsession. James Stewart plays Fergie, a retired detective, who suffers from acrophobia (a fear of heights) and vertigo. He takes on a job to investigate a friend's wife - Madeline, who is displaying strange behaviour. Fergie becomes obsessed with Madeline and the story unfolds. This first‑release Vertigo One Sheet is exceptionally hard to source, and this example presents beautifully. The reds — notoriously the first colour to fade on vintage posters — remain rich and vibrant, with no drift toward orange. The paper shows a gentle, natural warm tone when compared with the white of the linen backing, entirely consistent with a well‑preserved piece approaching its 70th year. The poster was professionally linen‑backed prior to my acquisition, and light, sympathetic retouching was carried out along the fold lines, most noticeably on the lower vertical fold. The close‑up photographs provide a clear view of these areas and allow for a detailed assessment. Overall, this is a striking, well‑preserved example of an increasingly scarce poster, and it will display superbly once framed. -

It tells the story of two friends trying to survive on the streets of New York City. Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman star in unforgettable roles. This is a brilliant set of original advance posters to promote the release of the film Parasite in the UK. Few film releases have created as much excitement among poster lovers in the past 5-10 years as Parasite, with many brilliant alternate artworks. The film was a relatively late release in the UK (it had already won the Palm D’Or and was hotly tipped for an Oscar) and the distributor Curzon went all out producing these 3 posters. We have decided to keep them together and offer them as a collection. The illustrated poster was produced by the London-based design studio La Boca and it generated huge publicity online about the film's pending release. It features scenes and rooms from the house in the movie. Its brilliance lies in the way the viewer constantly finds new layers and context upon viewing it. The black & white image was only used to publicise the film in the UK and the detail in the image is truly staggering. The 3rd image with the black and white strips over the character's eyes was used in cinema posters globally and completes the set. All 3 posters are in Very Fine to Near Mint condition. The unframed HD images enable the best condition assessment. The round white/black objects you may see in the corners are magnets, used to photograph the posters. They have not damaged the posters in any way. -
