Godfather 2 is widely considered the greatest film sequel of all time. Two storylines run through the film, Vito Corleone's (Robert De Niro) arrival in the United States in 1901 and Michael Corleone's (Al Pacino) attempt to expand the family business in the late 1950s. The earlier scenes are set in New York City while the later scenes are filmed at the Corleone family home in Lake Tahoe and a pre-Communist Cuba. This is an original Spanish poster for a poster Oscars release and includes the classic Godfather image of the puppeteer pulling strings. The font style has been widely copied by 'The Sopranos' and 'Snoop Dog' amongst others. The folder is in very fine folded condition. This is an original cinema poster for the first release of 'A Clockwork Orange' the hugely famous 1971 dystopian crime film directed by Stanley Kubrick. The film tells the story of Alex (Malcolm McDowell) and the horrific violent crime sprees he and his gang go on. Alex is eventually captured and agrees to partake in a psychological therapy in return for a reduced sentence. In the programme he is injected with nausea-inducing drugs and made to watch violence, similar to the type he had committed. It is while in therapy that his eyes are clamped open. This scene has been the source material for many of the film's cinema posters. The poster listed here is from the year of the films first release in 1972 and it was used for International circulation. The poster is designed by Philip Castle who later designed album covers for David Bowie and Pulp. The pointed pyramid and focus on human eyes reflect the grotesque pop art that is intertwined throughout the film. The poster is linen backed and is excellent condition. This is an original Star Wars Style A One sheet poster. The design, and artwork, was produced by Tom Jung. Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2 and C-3PO all feature on the poster. A large image of Darth Vader's helmet looms in the background, a design that was used in many subsequent posters for the franchise. A white streak across the top of Luke's lightsaber forms a cross. Jung explained this as representing the forces of good against evil. Star Wars was so popular in US Cinemas that four distinct prints runs of this poster were created for the first release of the film. This is from the 3rd print run which can be distinguished by the NSS number of "77/21" with "Star Wars" written under it and ''one sheet - style 'A' printed to the left of this. The poste is in beautiful tri-folded condition. The unframed image is a higher definition picture that enables condition assessment. This is an original US One Sheet poster for the 1974 film Chinatown. The film features one of the most famous directors, actors and actresses of all time in the form of Roman Polanski, Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway. Set in Los Angeles in 1937, Evelyn Mulwray (Dunaway) hires J.J Gittes (Nicholson), a private detective, to establish if her husband is having an affair. Hollis Mulwray is a high profile city planner involved in the construction of a new dam need to supply fresh water to LA, a hugely important project for the city at the time. As Gittes follows Mulwray he becomes aware of the civil servants dodgy dealings which lead him down a dangerous path. The famous image in this poster shows Nicholson and Dunaway and reflects the noir theme of the film.? The poster has recently been linen backed and the condition can be best assessed in the 3rd unframed image. -

This is an original US poster from the first release of the famous shark horror film Jaws. The portrait format of the US posters lends itself particularly well to the famous Jaws artwork and the fact this is also a country of origin makes this a highly desirable poster. Jaws is a hugely important film as it's considered to be the first summer blockbuster. Steven Spielberg's film is also the first film to earn over $100m USD at the box office. The story revolves around a white shark that terrorises the inhabitants of Amity, a quiet island. The film is based on a novel by Peter Benchley and the artwork from the cover of the novel has been re-used to create one of the most iconic cinema images of all time. This is an original UK quad poster for the 1972 film The Godfather, printed to mark a 50th-anniversary re-release of film, considered by many to be the greatest film of all time. The film tells the story of the Corleone family, one of the most established crime families in New York City. It chronicles the 1972 robbery and hostage situation led by John Wojtowicz and Salvatore Naturile at a Chase Manhattan branch in Brooklyn. This is a guaranteed original One Sheet poster for the US release of the film The Spy Who Loved. Having been 3 years since the previous Bond movie this poster has a new artist in Robert 'Bob' Peak. The artwork has a decidedly darker and mysterious tone than previous Bond campaigns. Anya Amasova the Russian agent, Bond teams up with, has an almost equal emphasis in the poster. The artwork features beneath the sea action and the hold of the villain Stomberg's ship which is being used to conceal hijacked US and Soviet submarines. This is an original US One Sheet Poster for Diamonds are Forever. With George Lazenby having played the role last time, Bond is immediately recognisable as Sean Connery, surrounded by two female characters holding handfuls of diamonds. All 3 are positioned on the arm of a space buggy that Bond hijacks in the film. Blofeld's diamond satellite superweapon and oil rig lair feature in the background. Instead of a tagline as used in previous Bond posters, the "Forever" in the poster is repeated. This poster is in beautiful folded condition with no colour loss along the folds let alone cracking. The artwork by Robert McGinnis works particularly well with the portrait format of this poster. It was to be Sean Connery's last appearance in an Eon-produced James Bond film. The action takes place on the Scottish island of Summerisle. Sergeant Howie (Edward Woodward) arrives to investigate the disappearance of a child. Howie is appalled by the sexual displays and strange pagan rituals he observes on the island but the more he observes the closer he gets to finding the missing child. This poster is from the film's first UK release and it has been beautifully linen-backed to remove the fold lines. -

This is an original US One Sheet Poster for the 1971 film Le Mans. A fictional movie about the 24 hour Le Mans race, the film uses real footage from the race the year before. Steve McQueen stars as Delaney, a racer for Porsche, wracked by guilt following the death of his fellow racer. He seeks redemption by winning the race. We have recently had this original poster linen backed and it looks incredible. No restoration of colour was required along the original fold lines. -

Michael Caine, in one of his iconic roles, plays London gangster Jack Carter who travels north to his hometown of Newcastle to avenge the death of his brother. Arnaldo Putzu produced the stunning artwork for this poster. Its not 100% clear why the artist painted a floral pattern on the actors suit jacket. Perhaps it was an ironic nod to the swinging 60's. In any case, it delivers making this one of the great British film posters from the last 60 years. The poster is linen backed in excellent condition. -

This is an original Star Wars Style AÂ US One sheet poster. This is a special poster, hugely rare and coveted. Star Wars was so popular in US Cinemas that four distinct print runs of this poster were created for the first release of the film. The NSS number at the bottom right of the poster can be used to distinguish between the posters and this one which has 77/21-0 is from the first print run. The 77/21-0 is the most coveted of these posters and the multi coloured strip that can be seen on along the side makes this one extra special as it shows it to be a printers proof. The coloured bar is used to enable printers to revise and perfect the posters they print using the offset lithography method. 99.9% of the time the proof is chopped from the posters before circulating them in the cinemas. Old proofs are often re-discovered in printing presses years later as is the case with this poster which has come directly from the printer. The 77/21-0 poster is widely faked and the fact that this one still has the proof from the first offset print run make its originality irrefutable. This is an original cinema poster for the film Get Carter. It was printed in 2022 to mark a British Film Industry re-release of the film. These BFI posters have been notable in recent years for how striking and strong the images have been. They are rare and people come to us requesting us to source another copy after they have sold. This one does have some damage in the bottom left but the worst of it could be covered if framed.
