This is an original US poster from the first release of the famous shark horror film Jaws. The portrait format of the US posters lends itself particularly well to the famous Jaws artwork and the fact this is also a country of origin makes this a highly desirable poster.

Jaws is a hugely important film as it’s considered to be the first summer blockbuster. Steven Spielberg’s film is also the first film to earn over $100m USD at the box office. The story revolves around a white shark that terrorises the inhabitants of Amity, a quiet island. The film is based on a novel by Peter Benchley and the artwork from the cover of the novel has been re-used to create one of the most iconic cinema images of all time.

This poster is in excellent condition and has been linen backed to restore and remove the fold lines. The third unframed image is a HD picture that enables the best condition assessment.

Mint
A flawless poster that will be in the exact same condition as the day it was printed with no marks or fading.

Near Mint
This poster will be in excellent conditions and if it has a blemish or mark it will be barely noticeable.

Very Fine
A poster that may have more than one very minor flaws, a minor tear or some barely visible signs of restoration. Colour in outstanding condition.

Fine
A fine poster while still very presentable may have some edge damage, show clearer signs of restoration or have multiple nicks to the surface. If a folded poster there may be loss of colour along the folds.

Very Good
An average poster that shows multiple pinholes, tears that are clearly visible or possible tape stains. Colours are still good but the paper may have yellowed.

Good and Below Good
This poster will show serious signs of wear and tears, fading of colours, tear marks and/or noticeable repair work.
