This is an original US Subway Cinema poster for the first release of Thunderball in the United States. Thunderball was the first Bond film poster to feature work by the acclaimed artist Robert McGinnis and this is a special poster. It was first major US or UK film poster to feature Bond in attire other than a tuxedo. Here Bond can be seen in an under water fight scene holding a spear gun. There is an incredible green/blue background and red and black suited divers and corals feature also. Three subway posters that carry the captions 'Look Up', 'Look Out' and 'Look Down' were printed for Thunderball. All 3 posters can be viewed on this site but this image, tops the other two in value, when they come up at auction. Printed 60 years ago this poster was never folded, has now been linen-backed and remains in excellent condition. The colours are immaculate and there are no pinholes or tape and only minor edge wear on the sides. This an original first release poster for the film Lawrence of Arabia. Â British army officer T.E. Lawrence led Arabian desert tribes into battle with the Turkish army in Aqaba and Damascus during World War I. Peter O'Toole plays the title role and Omar Sharif and Anthony Quinn also star. This particular first release poster for the film is one of the most sought cinema posters printed in the UK in the past 70 years. It is also very hard to find, with copies rarely being available for sale. We acquired it from a gentleman who had kept in a folder since childhood and it this is reflected in the outstanding colour with no apparent fading. It has been glued on top of another poster but we think it would restore magnificently. There is some minor dirt on the right hand side but we think this could be cleaned and wouldn't require over-painting. The snipe (sticker with additional screening details) could be left in place or removed by a restorer before linen backing. If removed we could have it linen backed also. This is an original UK quad poster from the first release of the film Goldfinger. Rather than conventional artwork, designer Robert Brownjohn uses the same photographic approach for the poster that was used in the title sequence. Hugely innovative at the time, an image of Bond (Sean Connery) and Pussy Galore (Honour Blackman) is projected onto a girl painted gold. This startling image would have created huge intrigue and implied the use of cutting-edge technology at the time of the film's release. The poster has gold and red/orange taglines while the white font of the film title is now instantly recognisable as being associated with the film. The colours have not faded at all. This hugely 'desirable' image is used in the UK quad poster also . Similar in composition, both are landscape posters but this image with an extra 20 inches in width and 15 inches in height than the quad has that extra wow factor. Printed 60 years ago this poster remains in excellent condition. The colours are immaculate and there are no pinholes or tape. There is some minor edge wear and a 1 inch tear in either side. One of them goes into green border slightly and can just about be seen above the black hair of the lady wearing the pink headboard. Really this is minor stuff however and it would be barely visible let alone draw the eye when framed. We can also help with the framing of this spectacular image. -

Dr. No is the movie that launched the James Bond phenomenon into the US, and this is the poster that was used to promote it. Bond with a cigarette in one hand and a gun in the other lounges next to 4 seductive women. Small line drawings of scenes from the movie are used. Red and yellow are colours that portray passion while the use of black green and yellow is perhaps a nod to the film's Jamaican setting. You can observe grey smoke coming from Bonds cigarette. In the first run of prints of these posters the smoke was yellow but this was changed in later print runs. Both posters are equally desirable, and this is a special and rare poster. It is in beautiful linen-backed condition. -

There are no credits and you can see that not even the film title has not been printed as it was unlikely to have been confirmed at the time. Chelsea Girls was the only art-house film directed by Andy Warhol to achieve mainstream success. This poster was designed for a UK screening of the film at the Art's Laboratory in London in 1968 and Warhol famously remarked that he wished the movie was as good as the poster. The circulation of the poster led to outcries of indecency and it was withdrawn. Only a small number of these posters are thought to have survived and they have generally been bought by museums such as the TATE. However, in 1970 the designer, Alan Aldridge, commissioned Motif to produce a further run of the posters and it is one of these posters we have on offer. Although this is a rare example of a poster on our website that wasn't used as promotional material for a film release, it is both a compelling artwork and investment piece. This is an original 4 foglio poster for a 1970s re-release of You Only Live Twice in Italy. The 'red background' style of this poster is very popular with collectors and we believe there was once? (and may still be a copy) on display at the London Film Museum in Convent Garden. You Only Live Twice is the fifth Eon-produced Bond film. Multiple styles of artwork were used in the film posters with one consistent feature being Sean Connery holding a diving mask and pistol. This is the image you see in the poster but note how Bond has become left handed to accommodate the text on the right hand side. The poster has been linen-backed and the 2nd image gives an idea of the huge scale of the poster. The appearance of this poster is not perfect and we suggest and examination of the the 3rd unframed (HD) image which enables the best condition assessment. -
