This is an original US Subway for the film 'You Only Live Twice'. Three styles were produced to promote the release of? You Only Live Twice in both Britain and the US. Of the three styles the Style C (Bath Scene) photograph is the most popular. The main artwork shows Bond being attended to by exotic, bikini-clad girls. The picture has many subtle signs of the year the poster was produced. The image is deliberately risque, reflecting the new 1970s mood of sexual liberation. The tagline emphasises that Sean Connery is the one and only James Bond, perhaps a veiled put-down of Casino Royale, the Bond spoof released that year. The artwork is unmistakably Robert McGinnis while the great children's author and 'Tales of the Unexpected' creator Roald Dahl wrote the screenplay and is named in the poster's credits. This is an original US Subway poster for the 1968 Beatles film Yellow Submarine. This poster, at roughly 5ft x 3ft,? is spectacular in scale and despite never having been folded has been beautifully linen backed. The artwork is by Heinz Edelmann and features much of the fun from the cartoon with the Fab Four and their Yellow submarine as the centrepiece. When inhabitants of Pepperland are attacked by the music hating Blue Meanies, the Mayor of Pepperland dispatches sailor Old Fred to Liverpool, to recruit the help of the Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr). The Beatles ride a yellow submarine to the rescue and banish the Blue Meanies with their groovy tunes. -

The film created persona’s for the band that endured. John Lennon was the smart one, McCartney the cute one, Harrison the quiet one and Ringo the lucky one. This is an original UK Quad Cinema poster for the first release of Thunderball in the United Kingdom. Thunderball was the first Bond film poster to feature work by the acclaimed artist Robert McGinnis. It is also the first film poster not to feature Bond wearing a suit or tuxedo. The diving suit he wears in this poster is in keeping with the film's aquatic theme. As per the poster for Dr No, four adoring girls can also be seen. This UK Quad poster is highly sought after, and it has been expertly linen backed and restored. -
Chelsea Girls was the only art-house film directed by Andy Warhol to achieve mainstream success. This poster was designed for a UK screening of the film at the Art's Laboratory in London in 1968 and Warhol famously remarked that he wished the movie was as good as the poster. The circulation of the poster led to outcries of indecency and it was withdrawn. Only a small number of these posters are thought to have survived and they have generally been bought by museums such as the TATE. However, in 1970 the designer, Alan Aldridge, commissioned Motif to produce a further run of the posters and it is one of these posters we have on offer. Although this is a rare example of a poster on our website that wasn't used as promotional material for a film release, it is both a compelling artwork and investment piece. This is an rare original poster for the first release of 'The Man with the Golden Gun' in 1974, which features a tie-up with the brand Guinness. The huge golden gun directed at Bond with the '007' ominously etched onto a bullet is central to the poster but it shares the limelight with the famous Irish stout. A bottle of Guinness makes an appearance in the film when Nick Nack brings it to Scaramanga on a tray with bottle of Champagne and a plate of oysters in the pre-title sequence. This is an original, county of original, UK quad poster in outstanding folded condition for the 1968 Beatles film Yellow Submarine. The poster was printed in advance of the films first release. There are no credits and you can see that not even the film title has not been printed as it was unlikely to have been confirmed at the time. The animated film was released in an effort to meet the band's obligation with United Artist to deliver three feature films. This particular first release poster for the film is one of the most sought cinema posters printed in the UK in the past 70 years. It is also very hard to find, with copies rarely being available for sale. We acquired it from a gentleman who had kept in a folder since childhood and it this is reflected in the outstanding colour with no apparent fading. It has been glued on top of another poster but we think it would restore magnificently. There is some minor dirt on the right hand side but we think this could be cleaned and wouldn't require over-painting. The snipe (sticker with additional screening details) could be left in place or removed by a restorer before linen backing. If removed we could have it linen backed also. It does adds to the provenance as Oxford is the city T.E. Lawrence is most associated with. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if we can provide more information or if interested in a viewing. -

This is an original US Half Sheet Poster for the film The Thomas Crown Affair. Stylish 60s theft drama starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. Posters for the film are always in demand. There is a tear around half way down the right hand side that has been repaired on the reverse with non acidic brown tape. The poster would present well if framed and its unlikely the tear would be apparent behind glazing. -
