This is an Original Advance US One Sheet Poster for the first release of the hugely popular 1985 film - Back to the Future. The advance poster would have been one of the first images ever released for the film and it is particularly rare. In the film, Marty McFly, played by Michael J Fox, travels back in time by 30 years to the year 1955. He inadvertently stops his parents meeting thereby threatening his very existence. In the movie, time travel is made possible using a DeLorean car built by his friend and scientist Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd). Marty and Doc must travel Back to the Future to enable his parents to meet, while also evading villain Biff. Murphy plays 4 different characters in the movie including the lead role of prince Akeem Joffer. Prince Joffer, the crown prince of a fictional African nation, travels to America in the hope of finding his princess. The streets of Queens in New York City are a far Cry from the life the prince previously led. This of course is the basis for much of the comedy in the movie. This is a original poster for the first release of You Only Live Twice in the USA. Three styles were produced to promote the release of 'You Only Live Twice' in both Britain and the US. Of the three styles the Style C (Bath Scene) picture is the most popular. The picture has many subtle signs of the year the poster was produced. The image is deliberately risque, reflecting the new 1960s mood of sexual liberation. The tagline emphasises that Sean Connery is the one and only James Bond, perhaps a veiled put-down of Casino Royal, the Bond spoof released that year. The artwork is unmistakably Robert McGinnis while the great children's author and 'Tales of the Unexpected' creator Roald Dahl wrote the screenplay and is named in the poster's credits. Godfather 2 is widely considered the greatest film sequel of all time. Two storylines run through the film, Vito Corleone's (Robert De Niro) arrival in the United States in 1901 and Michael Corleone's (Al Pacino) attempt to expand the family business in the late 1950s. This is an original US cinema poster for the James Bond film Octopussy. 1983 was the year 2 Bonds went head to head. Sean Connery starred in his final outing in Never Say Never Again however it was Octopussy which won at the Box Office. The poster features a tuxedo-clad, gun-wielding Roger Moore and the female lead Octopussy played by Maud Adams. Adams's six arms hold a martini glass, straightens Bonds tuxedo, hair and bow tie and also ominously stroke the silencer of his gun and while also point a knife towards the ground. The Acrostar minijet plays a prominent role in the US and the letter "O" in the logo us graciously combined with the tentacles of an octopus. The tagline 'James Bond's all time high!' references the movies title song, sang by Rita Coolidge. The first of a trilogy of prequels to the original three episodes of the "Star Wars" series, a distinctive advance poster was needed to draw people back to the storyline. The film created persona’s for the band that endured. John Lennon was the smart one, McCartney the cute one, Harrison the quiet one and Ringo the lucky one. A ‘Hard Days Night’ was re-released in 1999 and this poster was used to promote the release at the time. It uses the original US poster style showing headshots of the band members. This is an original Star Wars Style A One sheet poster. The design, and artwork, was produced by Tom Jung. Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2 and C-3PO all feature on the poster. A large image of Darth Vader's helmet looms in the background, a design that was used in many subsequent posters for the franchise. A white streak across the top of Luke's lightsaber forms a cross. Jung explained this as representing the forces of good against evil. Star Wars was so popular in US Cinemas that four distinct prints runs of this poster were created for the first release of the film. This is from the 2nd print run which can be distinguished by the NSS number of "77/21" which unlike the 3rd and 4th printing doesn't have "Star Wars" ?written under it.
