Star Wars Original Cinema Posters

This is an original Star Wars poster for a 1982 re-release of the film and features the film title in the crawl style text used in the opening of the film. Also promoted is the forthcoming release of the 'The Revenge of the Jedi'? the original name for the 3rd film in the series before the word Revenge was changed to Return as Jedi's are not vengeful. The poster is in excellenct condition with some minor edge wear on the left hand side which could be covered with framing. The unframed image is a higher definition picture that enables condition assessment.  

This is an original Spanish poster for the first release of The Phantom Menace in 1999. The first of a trilogy of prequels to the original three episodes of the "Star Wars" series, a distinctive advance poster was needed to draw people back to the storyline. This image certainly achieved this.

This is an original Star Wars Style A  US One sheet poster. This is a special poster, hugely rare and coveted. Star Wars was so popular in US Cinemas that four distinct print runs of this poster were created for the first release of the film. The NSS number at the bottom right of the poster can be used to distinguish between the posters and this one which has 77/21-0 is from the first print run. The 77/21-0 is the most coveted of these posters and the multi coloured strip that can be seen on along the side makes this one extra special as it shows it to be a printers proof. The coloured bar is used to enable printers to revise and perfect the posters they print using the offset lithography method. 99.9% of the time the proof is chopped from the posters before circulating them in the cinemas. Old proofs are often re-discovered in printing presses years later as is the case with this poster which has come directly from the printer. The 77/21-0 poster is widely faked and the fact that this one still has the proof from the first offset print run make its originality irrefutable. The design, and artwork for the poster, was produced by Tom Jung. Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2 and C-3PO all feature on the poster. A large image of Darth Vader's helmet looms in the background, a design that was used in many subsequent posters for the franchise. A white streak across the top of Luke's lightsaber forms a cross. Jung explained this as representing the forces of good against evil.  

This is an original Style A One Sheet poster for the 1980 release of 'The Empire Strikes Back'. The poster is commonly known as the 'Gone with the Wind' poster. Painted by Roger Castell, the image of Hans Solo kissing Princess Leia is a clear homage to a 1967 re-release poster for 'Gone with the Wind'. The use of this image is believed to have been a request directly from George Lucas. Considered by many to be the most beautiful picture produced for the Star Wars franchise, the background is similar to the Aurora Borealis (Northern lights). A large Vadar helmet looms large in the image, a design taken from Tom Jung 'Style A' Star Wars poster. This poster is in excellent condition, folded as issued. The unframed image is a higher definition picture that enables condition assessment.  

This is an original cinema poster printed for the release of the Empire Strikes Back in Australia. It is one of the most sought-after and rare of all Star Wars posters. The artwork, by Noriyoshi Ohrai, was used on Japanese posters but to the best of our knowledge, this is the only poster the artwork is used on in English-speaking countries. The green-tinged artwork is beautiful and Hans Solo kissing Princess Leah takes centre stage. Unlike in most of the US posters, and to the delight of fans, smuggler-turned Rebel Alliance General, Lando Calrissian has a prominent position in the image. Darth Vadar's helmet looms in the background with the classic 'The Star Wars Saga Continues' borrowed from the graphic designers of the US Poster. The poster has been expertly linen-backed and presents beautifully. The 3rd unframed image enables the best conditions assessment.

This is an original One Sheet Cinema poster for a 1982 re-release of 'The Empire Strikes Back'. The design by Tom Jung features distinct purple and pink colours with the film title written in yellow. The poster features many of the characters including Darth Vadar, Hans Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Lando Calrissian and Yoda (in one of his first appearances in an official Star Wars poster). This poster in near mint condition which can  be best assessed in the 3rd unframed image. This the actual poster available to purchase. The round white/black objects you may see in the corners are magnets, used to photograph the posters. They have not damaged the posters in any way.

This is an original poster for the 1983 release of the film The Return of the Jedi in Japan. The poster is affectionately referred to as Starfall and it is one of the most sought posters for The Return of the Jedi. A visually striking piece, it features the iconic droids R2-D2 and C-3PO standing in front of an orange-red starfield nebula, which gives the impression of a vibrant, gaseous background resembling volcanic activity. The Return of the Jedi film logo is prominently displayed below them in white text. The artwork is by the revered Stars Wars artist  Noriyoshi Ohrai.
