This is an original US Subway poster for the 1968 Beatles film Yellow Submarine. This poster, at roughly 5ft x 3ft,? is spectacular in scale and despite never having been folded has been beautifully linen backed. The artwork is by Heinz Edelmann and features much of the fun from the cartoon with the Fab Four and their Yellow submarine as the centrepiece. When inhabitants of Pepperland are attacked by the music hating Blue Meanies, the Mayor of Pepperland dispatches sailor Old Fred to Liverpool, to recruit the help of the Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr). The Beatles ride a yellow submarine to the rescue and banish the Blue Meanies with their groovy tunes. -
