This is an original Style A One Sheet poster for the 1980 release of 'The Empire Strikes Back'. The poster is commonly known as the 'Gone with the Wind' poster. Painted by Roger Castell, the image of Hans Solo kissing Princess Leia is a clear homage to a 1967 re-release poster for 'Gone with the Wind'. The use of this image is believed to have been a request directly from George Lucas. Considered by many to be the most beautiful picture produced for the Star Wars franchise, the background is similar to the Aurora Borealis (Northern lights). A large Vadar helmet looms large in the image, a design taken from Tom Jung 'Style A' Star Wars poster. This poster is in excellent condition, folded as issued. This documentary was filmed at the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey during the bands 1981 North American tour. This unusual poster is an original untrimmed set of Japanese Chirashi Posters print for the first release of the James Bond film Octopussy. Typically, the style of poster you see would have been cut into 8 separate pieces and distributed on counters at Japanese cinemas, hence it is also printed with information about the film on the back. This copy survived the guillotine making it by rare and desirable. As you can see it looks fantastic framed and would it make a real statement piece.
