This is an original 4 foglio poster for a 1970s re-release of You Only Live Twice in Italy. The 'red background' style of this poster is very popular with collectors and we believe there was once? (and may still be a copy) on display at the London Film Museum in Convent Garden. You Only Live Twice is the fifth Eon-produced Bond film. Multiple styles of artwork were used in the film posters with one consistent feature being Sean Connery holding a diving mask and pistol. This is the image you see in the poster but note how Bond has become left handed to accommodate the text on the right hand side. The poster has been linen-backed and the 2nd image gives an idea of the huge scale of the poster. The appearance of this poster is not perfect and we suggest and examination of the the 3rd unframed (HD) image which enables the best condition assessment. -

This is an original Belgian poster for the first release of the film Le Mepris. Paul Javal a young French playwright on the up accepts a job from vulgar American producer Jeremy Prokosch who wants Javal to re-write a script of a film being directed by Fritz Lang. Javal’s wife Camille is played by Brigitte Bardot and the presence of Prokosch drives a wedge between husband and wife. Camille develops what she describes as mépris (contempt) for her husband. There have been a number of outstanding images produced for the film's posters and first release posters are increasingly hard to come by. This image features Brigette Bardot sunbathing. The poster is in outstanding condition with one faint horizontal fold line and would look great framed -

This is an original UK quad poster from the first release of the film Goldfinger. Rather than conventional artwork, designer Robert Brownjohn uses the same photographic approach for the poster that was used in the title sequence. Hugely innovative at the time, an image of Bond (Sean Connery) and Pussy Galore (Honour Blackman) is projected onto a girl painted gold. This startling image would have created huge intrigue and implied the use of cutting-edge technology at the time of the film's release. The poster has gold and red/orange taglines while the white font of the film title is now instantly recognisable as being associated with the film. The colours have not faded at all. This poster is linen-backed in an outstanding condition and makes a truly stunning piece of vintage art. The unframed image is a higher definition picture that enables condition assessment. -

This is an original UK quad for the epic 1962 film The Longest Day, an epic dramatisation of the D-Day landings. The story is told from both an Allied and German side and features an all-star cast including John Wayne, Richard Burton and Sean Connery. The quad format brilliantly captures what the inside of a German trench would have looked like as the Allied forces descended on Normandy. This poster was printed for a 60s re-release of the film. The name Gert Frobe was added to the credits after he played Goldfinger in 1964. -

Thunderball was the first Bond film poster to feature work by the acclaimed artist Robert McGinnis and this US One Sheet poster features three of his finest works. Bond can be seen in a diving suit both under water and surrounded by four adoring girls. The jetpack that features in the French Chateau scene (must really have wowed at the time and still does) completes the image. -

This poster makes creative use of Maurice Binder's gun barrel logo seen at the beginning of every Bond film, and features Bonds head, Tilly Masterson Ford Mustang and Bond's Aston Martin DB5 inside it. This is an original US Subway Cinema poster for the first release of Thunderball in the United States. Thunderball was the first Bond film poster to feature work by the acclaimed artist Robert McGinniss and this is a special poster. It was first major US or UK film poster to feature Bond in attire other than a tuxedo. Here you can see him ready for action, wearing a wetsuit and flippers and holding a spear gun. This hugely 'desirable' image is used in the UK quad poster also . Similar in composition, both are landscape posters but this image with an extra 20 inches in width and 15 inches in height than the quad has that extra wow factor. Printed 60 years ago this poster remains in excellent condition. The colours are immaculate and there are no pinholes or tape. There is some minor edge wear and a 1 inch tear in either side. One of them goes into green border slightly and can just about be seen above the black hair of the lady wearing the pink headboard. Really this is minor stuff however and it would be barely visible let alone draw the eye when framed. We can also help with the framing of this spectacular image. -

This is a original poster for the first release of You Only Live Twice in the USA. Three styles were produced to promote the release of 'You Only Live Twice' in both Britain and the US. Of the three styles the Style C (Bath Scene) picture is the most popular. The picture has many subtle signs of the year the poster was produced. The image is deliberately risque, reflecting the new 1960s mood of sexual liberation. The tagline emphasises that Sean Connery is the one and only James Bond, perhaps a veiled put-down of Casino Royal, the Bond spoof released that year. The artwork is unmistakably Robert McGinnis while the great children's author and 'Tales of the Unexpected' creator Roald Dahl wrote the screenplay and is named in the poster's credits. This is an original UK quad poster for a 2001 re-release of Breakfast at Tiffany's. Breakfast at Tiffany's is widely considered to be the most popular cinema poster ever. This popularity can largely be attributed to the performance of Audrey Hepburn who plays Holly Golightly.' The film, which is based on a novel by Truman Capote, epitomises the chic side of New York City through Hepburn's distinctive style. In the film, Golightly meets a young, unpublished writer, Paul, who has moved into her apartment building. Manhattan socialite Golightly must decide between the advances of Paul and multiple other rich men who appear in the course of the film. This poster was issued for a British Film Institute screening of the film in 1989. BFI posters are always collectible for their scarcity and unique designs and this rolled UK quad is in near-mint condition.
