Dr. No is the movie that launched the James Bond phenomenon into the US, and this is the poster that was used to promote it. Bond with a cigarette in one hand and a gun in the other lounges next to 4 seductive women. Small line drawings of scenes from the movie are used. Red and yellow are colours that portray passion while the use of black green and yellow is perhaps a nod to the film's Jamaican setting. You can observe grey smoke coming from Bonds cigarette. In the first run of prints of these posters the smoke was yellow but this was changed in later print runs. Both posters are equally desirable, and this is a special and rare poster. It is in beautiful linen-backed condition. -
This an original first release poster for the film Lawrence of Arabia. Â British army officer T.E. Lawrence led Arabian desert tribes into battle with the Turkish army in Aqaba and Damascus during World War I. Peter O'Toole plays the title role and Omar Sharif and Anthony Quinn also star. This particular first release poster for the film is one of the most sought cinema posters printed in the UK in the past 70 years. It is also very hard to find, with copies rarely being available for sale. We acquired it from a gentleman who had kept in a folder since childhood and it this is reflected in the outstanding colour with no apparent fading. It has been glued on top of another poster but we think it would restore magnificently. There is some minor dirt on the right hand side but we think this could be cleaned and wouldn't require over-painting. The snipe (sticker with additional screening details) could be left in place or removed by a restorer before linen backing. If removed we could have it linen backed also. It does adds to the provenance as Oxford is the city T.E. Lawrence is most associated with. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if we can provide more information or if interested in a viewing. -

This is an original US Subway Cinema poster for the first release of Thunderball in the United States. Thunderball was the first Bond film poster to feature work by the acclaimed artist Robert McGinnis and this is a special poster. It was first major US or UK film poster to feature Bond in attire other than a tuxedo. Here Bond can be seen in an under water fight scene holding a spear gun. There is an incredible green/blue background and red and black suited divers and corals feature also. Three subway posters that carry the captions 'Look Up', 'Look Out' and 'Look Down' were printed for Thunderball. All 3 posters can be viewed on this site but this image, tops the other two in value, when they come up at auction. Printed 60 years ago this poster was never folded, has now been linen-backed and remains in excellent condition. The colours are immaculate and there are no pinholes or tape and only minor edge wear on the sides. This is an original US Subway for the film 'You Only Live Twice'. Three styles were produced to promote the release of? You Only Live Twice in both Britain and the US. Of the three styles the Style C (Bath Scene) photograph is the most popular. The main artwork shows Bond being attended to by exotic, bikini-clad girls. The picture has many subtle signs of the year the poster was produced. The image is deliberately risque, reflecting the new 1970s mood of sexual liberation. The tagline emphasises that Sean Connery is the one and only James Bond, perhaps a veiled put-down of Casino Royale, the Bond spoof released that year. The artwork is unmistakably Robert McGinnis while the great children's author and 'Tales of the Unexpected' creator Roald Dahl wrote the screenplay and is named in the poster's credits. US Subway posters are quite stunning in their scale and this poster is no exception. It is in outstanding linen-backed condition and was never folded meaning restoration needed to be done to the fold lines. Chelsea Girls was the only art-house film directed by Andy Warhol to achieve mainstream success. This poster was designed for a UK screening of the film at the Art's Laboratory in London in 1968 and Warhol famously remarked that he wished the movie was as good as the poster. The circulation of the poster led to outcries of indecency and it was withdrawn. Only a small number of these posters are thought to have survived and they have generally been bought by museums such as the TATE. However, in 1970 the designer, Alan Aldridge, commissioned Motif to produce a further run of the posters and it is one of these posters we have on offer. Although this is a rare example of a poster on our website that wasn't used as promotional material for a film release, it is both a compelling artwork and investment piece. This is an original cinema poster for the 1967 film Casino Royale. Robert Feldman acquired the rights for the first Ian Fleming James Bond novel. Rather than making a deal with Bond franchise owner EON Productions, he produced this satire himself. Bond is played by multiple actors, reflected in the tagline Casino Royale is too much for one James Bond, and the movie features many superstars all of whom are listed on the poster. The artwork is by Robert McGinnis and the multi-coloured paisley pattern painted on the girl's body reflects the swinging 60s mood of the time. -

This is an original 4 foglio poster for a 1970s re-release of You Only Live Twice in Italy. The 'red background' style of this poster is very popular with collectors and we believe there was once? (and may still be a copy) on display at the London Film Museum in Convent Garden. You Only Live Twice is the fifth Eon-produced Bond film. Multiple styles of artwork were used in the film posters with one consistent feature being Sean Connery holding a diving mask and pistol. This is the image you see in the poster but note how Bond has become left handed to accommodate the text on the right hand side. The poster has been linen-backed and the 2nd image gives an idea of the huge scale of the poster. The appearance of this poster is not perfect and we suggest and examination of the the 3rd unframed (HD) image which enables the best condition assessment. -
