A Clockwork Orange’ is the hugely famous 1971 dystopian crime film directed by Stanley Kubrick. The film tells the story of Alex (Malcolm McDowell) and the horrific violent crimes sprees he and his gang partake in. Alex is eventually captured and agrees to partake in a psychological therapy in return for a reduced sentence. In the programme he is injected with nausea-inducing drugs and made to watch violence, similar to the type he had committed. It is while in therapy that his eyes are clamped open. This scene has been the source material for many of the film’s cinema posters.

The poster listed here is from the year of the films first release in 1972 and it was used for International cirulation.. The poster is designed by Philip Castle who later designed album covers for David Bowie and Pulp. The pointed pyramid and focus on human eyes reflect the grotesque pop art that is intertwined throughout the film. The poster is linen backed and there has been some restoration including over the Rating logo. The 3rd image is a HD picture that enables best condition assessment.

Mint
A flawless poster that will be in the exact same condition as the day it was printed with no marks or fading.

Near Mint
This poster will be in excellent conditions and if it has a blemish or mark it will be barely noticeable.

Very Fine
A poster that may have more than one very minor flaws, a minor tear or some barely visible signs of restoration. Colour in outstanding condition.

Fine
A fine poster while still very presentable may have some edge damage, show clearer signs of restoration or have multiple nicks to the surface. If a folded poster there may be loss of colour along the folds.

Very Good
An average poster that shows multiple pinholes, tears that are clearly visible or possible tape stains. Colours are still good but the paper may have yellowed.

Good and Below Good
This poster will show serious signs of wear and tears, fading of colours, tear marks and/or noticeable repair work.
