This is an original Style A One Sheet poster for the 1980 release of 'The Empire Strikes Back'. The poster is commonly known as the 'Gone with the Wind' poster. Painted by Roger Castell, the image of Hans Solo kissing Princess Leia is a clear homage to a 1967 re-release poster for 'Gone with the Wind'. The use of this image is believed to have been a request directly from George Lucas. Considered by many to be the most beautiful picture produced for the Star Wars franchise, the background is similar to the Aurora Borealis (Northern lights). A large Vadar helmet looms large in the image, a design taken from Tom Jung 'Style A' Star Wars poster. This poster is in excellent condition, folded as issued. The artwork, by Noriyoshi Ohrai, was used on Japanese posters but to the best of our knowledge, this is the only poster the artwork is used on in English-speaking countries. The green-tinged artwork is beautiful and Hans Solo kissing Princess Leah takes centre stage. Unlike in most of the US posters, and to the delight of fans, smuggler-turned Rebel Alliance General, Lando Calrissian has a prominent position in the image. Darth Vadar's helmet looms in the background with the classic 'The Star Wars Saga Continues' borrowed from the graphic designers of the US Poster. This is an original poster for the Empire Strikes Back printed to mark the release of the film in Japan. The much sought-after artwork, by Noriyoshi Ohrai, was used on international posters and Japanese posters. This version of the poster was printed by Toho Co., Ltd., a Japanese film, theatre production and distribution company. Unusually for a poster on our website it was originally printed for sale during the original screenings of the Empire Strikes Back in Japan. However, because this poster was commissioned, or printed with the permission of the studio it is considered an original. The green-tinged artwork is beautiful and Hans Solo kissing Princess Leah takes centre stage. Smuggler turned Rebel Alliance General, Lando Calrissian also has a prominent role in the image while Darth Vadar?s helmut looms in the background. The poster is in excellent condition, with minimal edge or surface wear, though it should be noted that there are tape and pen marks on the reverse. -

This is an original One Sheet Cinema poster for a 1982 re-release of 'The Empire Strikes Back'. This is a particularly rare version of the poster as it features what Star Wars enthusiasts refer to as a teal background (the widely distributed version has a purple background). It was likely printed in as part of a test print run but never distributed to cinemas . Finger in the air, there is probably around a hundred of them in circulation. In truth the exact history of this poster is unknown. The design by Tom features? **This image has been trimmed and is 39.5 x 27.5 inches instead of the normal 40 x 30 inches. There is also a tear in the top border that can be seen. However all the artwork reamins in tact. Timothy Dalton brought a rugged grittiness to the Bond character in a similar way as Daniel Craig did almost 20 years later. The tagline 'Living on the Edge' portrays a Bond character under pressure in contrast to the suave sophisticate played Roger Moore. The poster has all the classic Bond ingredients and places Dalton in the centre of the iconic gun-barrel logo we see at the beginning of every movie. The latest Aston Martin v8 model with rocket firing capabilities features continuing the car manufactures ties with the franchise.
