Sean Connery starred in his final outing in Never Say Never Again however it was Octopussy which won at the Box Office. The poster features a tuxedo-clad, gun-wielding Roger Moore and the female lead Octopussy played by Maud Adams. Adams's six arms hold a martini glass, straightens Bonds tuxedo, hair and bow tie and also ominously stroke the silencer of his gun and while also point a knife towards the ground. The Acrostar minijet plays a prominent role in the US and the letter "O" in the logo us graciously combined with the tentacles of an octopus. The tagline 'James Bond's all time high!' references the movies title song, sang by Rita Coolidge. Doug Bradley plays the leader of the Cenobites a character identified as Pinhead in the later films. The cenobites are a group of sadomasochists that are summoned by a mystical puzzle box. Both lauded and loathed by critics, Melody Maker called this the greatest horror film made in Britain. There is no argument, however, that Barker produced a truly iconic character in Pinhead. This unusual poster is an original untrimmed set of Japanese Chirashi Posters print for the first release of the James Bond film Octopussy. Typically, the style of poster you see would have been cut into 8 separate pieces and distributed on counters at Japanese cinemas, hence it is also printed with information about the film on the back. This copy survived the guillotine making it by rare and desirable. As you can see it looks fantastic framed and would it make a real statement piece. It is also in excellent condition which can be best assesed int the unframed image.
