Thunderball was the first Bond film poster to feature work by the acclaimed artist Robert McGinnis and this is a special poster. It was first major US or UK film poster to feature Bond in attire other than a tuxedo. Here Bond can be seen in an under water fight scene holding a spear gun. There is an incredible green/blue background and red and black suited divers and corals feature also. Three subway posters that carry the captions 'Look Up', 'Look Out' and 'Look Down' were printed for Thunderball. All 3 posters can be viewed on this site but this image, tops the other two in value, when they come up at auction. Printed 60 years ago this poster was never folded, has now been linen-backed and remains in excellent condition. The colours are immaculate and there are no pinholes or tape and only minor edge wear on the sides. It was first major US or UK film poster to feature Bond in attire other than a tuxedo. Here you can see him ready for action, wearing a wetsuit and flippers and holding a spear gun. This hugely 'desirable' image is used in the UK quad poster also . Similar in composition, both are landscape posters but this image with an extra 20 inches in width and 15 inches in height than the quad has that extra wow factor. Printed 60 years ago this poster remains in excellent condition. The colours are immaculate and there are no pinholes or tape. There is some minor edge wear and a 1 inch tear in either side. One of them goes into green border slightly and can just about be seen above the black hair of the lady wearing the pink headboard. Really this is minor stuff however and it would be barely visible let alone draw the eye when framed. We can also help with the framing of this spectacular image. -

This poster makes creative use of Maurice Binder's gun barrel logo seen at the beginning of every Bond film, and features Bonds head, Tilly Masterson Ford Mustang and Bond's Aston Martin DB5 inside it. The image of Bond and the hand holding a silenced Walther PPK has been added from another Bond image - possibly the original Japanese one sheet poster for You Only Live Twice. The poster is in excellent condition. It has a very faint horizontal fold line through the middle. Please inspect the 3rd unframed image, this is the poster available to purchase. The round white/black objects you may see in the corners are magnets, used to photograph the posters. They have not damaged the posters in any way. -
Dr. No is the movie that launched the James Bond phenomenon into the US, and this is the poster that was used to promote it. Bond with a cigarette in one hand and a gun in the other lounges next to 4 seductive women. Small line drawings of scenes from the movie are used. Red and yellow are colours that portray passion while the use of black green and yellow is perhaps a nod to the film's Jamaican setting. You can observe grey smoke coming from Bonds cigarette. In the first run of prints of these posters the smoke was yellow but this was changed in later print runs. Both posters are equally desirable, and this is a special and rare poster. It is in beautiful linen-backed condition. -

There is a tear around half way down the right hand side that has been repaired on the reverse with non acidic brown tape. The poster would present well if framed and its unlikely the tear would be apparent behind glazing. -

Of the three styles the Style C (Bath Scene) picture is the most popular. The picture has many subtle signs of the year the poster was produced. The image is deliberately risque, reflecting the new 1960s mood of sexual liberation. The tagline emphasises that Sean Connery is the one and only James Bond, perhaps a veiled put-down of Casino Royal, the Bond spoof released that year. The artwork is unmistakably Robert McGinnis while the great children's author and 'Tales of the Unexpected' creator Roald Dahl wrote the screenplay and is named in the poster's credits. -

This is an original UK quad for the epic 1962 film The Longest Day, an epic dramatisation of the D-Day landings. The story is told from both an Allied and German side and features an all-star cast including John Wayne, Richard Burton and Sean Connery. The quad format brilliantly captures what the inside of a German trench would have looked like as the Allied forces descended on Normandy. This poster was printed for a 60s re-release of the film. The name Gert Frobe was added to the credits after he played Goldfinger in 1964. -

This is an original cinema poster for the 1967 film Casino Royale. Robert Feldman acquired the rights for the first Ian Fleming James Bond novel. Rather than making a deal with Bond franchise owner EON Productions, he produced this satire himself. Bond is played by multiple actors, reflected in the tagline Casino Royale is too much for one James Bond, and the movie features many superstars all of whom are listed on the poster. The artwork is by Robert McGinnis and the multi-coloured paisley pattern painted on the girl's body reflects the swinging 60s mood of the time. -
This an original first release poster for the film Lawrence of Arabia. Â British army officer T.E. Lawrence led Arabian desert tribes into battle with the Turkish army in Aqaba and Damascus during World War I. Peter O'Toole plays the title role and Omar Sharif and Anthony Quinn also star. This particular first release poster for the film is one of the most sought cinema posters printed in the UK in the past 70 years. It is also very hard to find, with copies rarely being available for sale. We acquired it from a gentleman who had kept in a folder since childhood and it this is reflected in the outstanding colour with no apparent fading. It has been glued on top of another poster but we think it would restore magnificently. There is some minor dirt on the right hand side but we think this could be cleaned and wouldn't require over-painting. The snipe (sticker with additional screening details) could be left in place or removed by a restorer before linen backing. If removed we could have it linen backed also. It does adds to the provenance as Oxford is the city T.E. Lawrence is most associated with. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if we can provide more information or if interested in a viewing. -

It has been widely re-produced but if you look at the 3rd high-definition unframed image, the depth of colour and precision of detail you see can only be found in an original poster. The poster has been linen backed and the appearance is immaculate and ready to be framed. This popularity of the film can largely be attributed to the performance of Audrey Hepburn who plays Holly Golightly.' Based on a novel by Truman Capote, the film epitomises the chic side of New York City through Hepburn's distinctive style. Manhattan socialite Golightly must decide between the advances of Paul, a young author who moves into her building, and multiple other rich men who appear in the course of the film.
