This is an original cinema poster for the 1967 film Casino Royale. Robert Feldman acquired the rights for the first Ian Fleming James Bond novel. Rather than making a deal with Bond franchise owner EON Productions, he produced this satire himself. Bond is played by multiple actors, reflected in the tagline Casino Royale is too much for one James Bond, and the movie features many superstars all of whom are listed on the poster. The artwork is by Robert McGinnis and the multi-coloured paisley pattern painted on the girl's body reflects the swinging 60s mood of the time. -
Chelsea Girls was the only art-house film directed by Andy Warhol to achieve mainstream success. This poster was designed for a UK screening of the film at the Art's Laboratory in London in 1968 and Warhol famously remarked that he wished the movie was as good as the poster. The circulation of the poster led to outcries of indecency and it was withdrawn. Only a small number of these posters are thought to have survived and they have generally been bought by museums such as the TATE. However, in 1970 the designer, Alan Aldridge, commissioned Motif to produce a further run of the posters and it is one of these posters we have on offer. Although this is a rare example of a poster on our website that wasn't used as promotional material for a film release, it is both a compelling artwork and investment piece. Its presents very well but there have been minor repairs to 3 tears which can only be seen by scrutinising the back The 3rd unframed image enables the best condition assessment. -

This is an original poster, for the much-loved David Lean, film Doctor Zhivago. Omar Sharif plays the lead role as a physician whose life is changed by the Russian Revolution. Yuri Zhivago originally marries family friend Tonya and they live happily together in Moscow. However, during World War I, he is effectively exiled by the Bolsheviks to Siberia. There he meets Lara (Julie Christie) and much of the remainder of the film involves a love triangle between the three main characters. Dr. No is the movie that launched the James Bond phenomenon into the US, and this is the poster that was used to promote it. Bond with a cigarette in one hand and a gun in the other lounges next to 4 seductive women. Small line drawings of scenes from the movie are used. Red and yellow are colours that portray passion while the use of black green and yellow is perhaps a nod to the film's Jamaican setting. You can observe grey smoke coming from Bonds cigarette. In the first run of prints of these posters the smoke was yellow but this was changed in later print runs. Both posters are equally desirable, and this is a special and rare poster. It is in beautiful linen-backed condition. -

This is an original UK quad poster from the first release of the film Goldfinger. Rather than conventional artwork, designer Robert Brownjohn uses the same photographic approach for the poster that was used in the title sequence. Hugely innovative at the time, an image of Bond (Sean Connery) and Pussy Galore (Honour Blackman) is projected onto a girl painted gold. This startling image would have created huge intrigue and implied the use of cutting-edge technology at the time of the film's release. The poster has gold and red/orange taglines while the white font of the film title is now instantly recognisable as being associated with the film. The colours have not faded at all.
