Directed by James McTeigue and starring Natalie Portman and John Hurt, V for Vendetta is a dystopian thriller film loosely based on the graphic novel of the same name by Alan Moore and David Lloyd. The film is set in an alternate history where a nuclear war has taken place more than 50 years ago and Great Britain is now a fascist police state. The film follows the exploits of a revolutionary named V who hopes to bring down the government with his own brand of guerrilla warfare, while at the same time bringing focus on the people's plight by toppling monuments that represent the government. This is an original US One Sheet Poster for the 1971 film Le Mans. A fictional movie about the 24 hour Le Mans race, the film uses real footage from the race the year before. Steve McQueen stars as Delaney, a racer for Porsche, wracked by guilt following the death of his fellow racer. He seeks redemption by winning the race. Painted by Roger Castell, the image of Hans Solo kissing Princess Leia is a clear homage to a 1967 re-release poster for 'Gone with the Wind'. The use of this image is believed to have been a request directly from George Lucas. Considered by many to be the most beautiful picture produced for the Star Wars franchise, the background is similar to the Aurora Borealis (Northern lights). A large Vadar helmet looms large in the image, a design taken from Tom Jung 'Style A' Star Wars poster. The poster is linen-backed in excellent condition.
