This is an original Style A One Sheet poster for the 1980 release of 'The Empire Strikes Back'. The poster is commonly known as the 'Gone with the Wind' poster. Painted by Roger Castell, the image of Hans Solo kissing Princess Leia is a clear homage to a 1967 re-release poster for 'Gone with the Wind'. The use of this image is believed to have been a request directly from George Lucas. Considered by many to be the most beautiful picture produced for the Star Wars franchise, the background is similar to the Aurora Borealis (Northern lights). A large Vadar helmet looms large in the image, a design taken from Tom Jung 'Style A' Star Wars poster. This poster is in excellent condition, folded as issued. No actor has captured the rebel spirt and menace required for a Batman 'bad guy' quite like Heath Ledger?s Joker. In this poster Joker appears to be standing behind a glass screen on which he has written the hugely memorable line 'Why So Serious?' in blood. It is an outstanding image which looks even more brilliant when seen up close. There are many fakes of this poster circulating. The reproductions are double-sided (as one would expect from an original poster), however the dimensions of the fakes are slightly smaller, the paper is less glossy and the colour's are not as deep. In short the quality of an original, such as the one we have on offer, are much better and of course more valuable. This is an original, linen-backed US One Sheet poster for The Godfather, considered by many to be the greatest film of all time. The film tells the story of the Corleone family, one of the most established crime families in New York City. Marlon Brando famously plays the role of Vito Don Corleone, while Al Pacino plays his son Michael Pacino. Don Corleone's refusal to involve the family in the drug trade leads his rivals to view the family as past the peak of their powers and it leads the Corleone family to come under attack.
