Irish American artist Sean Scully's oil works have hit the million USD mark at auction and his printworks are revered also. This piece exemplifies Scully’s mastery of printmaking in the 1990s, translating his painterly language into graphic form. Raval 7 (1996) is a striking etching with sugarlift and aquatint, part of his celebrated Raval suite. Executed in bold geometric abstraction, the work layers deep tonal contrasts across horizontal bands, embodying Scully’s exploration of rhythm, architecture, and human emotion. Created in Barcelona and Munich, Raval 7 was co‑published by Edicions T and Bernd Klüser, and issued in a small edition of just 24 plus artist’s proofs. Measuring approximately 29 × 58 cm (image size), the print is signed, titled, and dated by the artist. It was bought from the prestigious German Auction House - Van Ham.
